About Us

Vision and Mission

We envision our youth as motivated, skilled, and responsible young people who are ready to build their country, Tanzania.

We seek to enhance their social, cultural, and economic situations through engagement in sports, recreational and artistic activities, life skills education, and income generating activities.

Objectives

  1. Register and group youth and confer them ownership of their organization.
  2. Offer sports and artistic activities, playing facilities, and equipment for youth.
  3. Support youth in leading a healthy life through behavior change, counseling, and medical check-ups.
  4. Reduce unemployment among the youth by initiating income-generating activities.
  5. Collaborate with different stakeholders and gain community support.
  6. Monitor, evaluate, document, and share lessons learned.

History and Funding

MIYOSHA has been operating in Dar es Salaam since 2013 and in Mtwara since 2018.

It was founded by Paul Gogo after many years of experience as a health counsellor for a German international development organization and started its operations in Paul’s neighborhood, offering sports activities, health counselling, and tutoring to disadvantaged youth in Ilala’s Kivule ward.

Since then, MIYOSHA has been expanding its reach in terms of its activities (to arts, vocational training, and education programs) and its geography (to Mtwara), serving more and more youth in response to local demand.

Our vocational training programs have been generously supported by the German Internationaler Club der Schlitzohren e.V., and our technology education programs have been enabled by Labdoo.
Most of the sports equipment needed for our recreational activities is donated by individual wellwishers.
